QEC International Pty Ltd ("QEC") is a leading staffing organization. QEC specializes in training, career management and recruitment of IT professionals.
Any information that you provide through our site may be collected and used by QEC and governed by this privacy policy. This statement sets out QEC's policies relating to the collection and use of your personal information.
QEC is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who deal with us and to ensuring that the information we hold is used in ways the individual has consented.
This privacy statement is provided so that you can understand our processes and how we use the information we collect.

What information we collect
QEC collects the following information:
- Sufficient information from clients to allow us to place them in a position that matches their skills, experience and career preferences.
- Sufficient information from clients that allow us to enroll them in a program, assess their career status and provide guidance.
- Names, addresses and email addresses to allow us to send newsletters to individuals. Each person is able to unsubscribe from these services.
The information we generally collect from clients is:
- Personal information such as name, address, phone numbers and email addresses
- Employment history including dates of employment, names of employers, duties and achievements
- Education details and professional qualifications
- Details of an individuals career preferences and desired remuneration
- Information from appropriate referees to confirm work experience and skills. However, we will not conduct a reference check without your consent.
- Payment details for training programs including but not restricted to date of payment, amounts owing and payment methods. Credit Card and bank account details are NOT retained once payment has been processed.
- Personal information relating to finance arrangements including but not restricted to employment details, current salary and financial position. These details are forwarded directly to our finance provider and are NOT retained after the finance arrangement has been processed.
QEC does not generally collect information such as professional association memberships, health information or criminal history. We will only collect this information with your consent or if required to do so by law.
Why we collect personal information
QEC collects personal information for the following purposes:
- Clients have asked us to source suitable candidates for specific roles and we need to assess each candidate's suitability.
- Clients have asked QEC to help them find their next career position.
- Clients have enrolled in a training program that requires us to assess their career status and objectives.
- Clients have asked us to assist them with finance arrangements
Why we hold personal information
QEC retains personal information to:
- Enable us to advise suitable clients when we find a position that matches their skills, experience and career preference
- Enable us to advise clients of services and other information that may be of assistance to their career
- Source and qualify clients for clients of QEC
- Maintain contact with placed clients to ensure their placement is satisfactory
- Maintain contact with clients to ensure their career is progressing in line with their objectives
- Process a client enrolment
- Assist a client with finance arrangements
How we collect personal information
Most information is collected directly from the clients when they:
- Forward their resumes to us
- When they are interviewed by one of our staff
- During other contact either by telephone or email
- Attend a seminar
- Enroll in a training program or private consultation
How we retain personal information
QEC holds personal information in a combination of electronic and paper based files at our offices and other secure premises. We respect each individual's privacy and consequently have taken steps to ensure that both paper and electronic files are accessible only by QEC staff who require access to that information.
How we generally use and disclose personal information
The personal information is used for the purposes of which it is collected and held as set out above. By providing us with personal information individuals consent to the collection and internal use of their personal information as outlined in this privacy policy statement.
However, each person will be contacted to give us their consent to their personal information being disclosed to a 3 rd party and they will be advised of the particular purpose. The exception to this is finance application information, which is forwarded directly to our finance provider as soon as the applicant gives it to us. The only other time we may not ask for your consent is where we are required by law or an enforcement agency to disclose the information.
How to access personal information held by QEC
Any person can ask for:
- A copy of their personal information
- Their personal information to be corrected or updated
- Their personal information to be removed from our files
The process for requesting access is:
- Proof of identity must be provided to us
- Request to be made in writing
- QEC will provide the information within 30 days
- A fee will be due and payable to QEC to administrative costs associated with collating the information. The fee will be charged at $40.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $25.00. At the time of making the request we will provide our best estimate of the cost.
How to make a complaint
If an individual has a complaint about how their personal information is being handled they should direct it to our Privacy Compliance Officer via info@qec.net.au . We will respond to the complaint as quickly as possible and not more than 30 days.
If they are not satisfied with the response or outcome of their enquiry, they should raise the complaint and our response to it with the office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to our privacy policy
Our privacy policy may be updated from time to time. The current statement will be available on our website at www.qec.net.au .
